Michael Forsberg funk wpa gallery
Inspired by the natural beauty just beyond Funk’s downtown, the Funk School Community Center board set out to shine a light on one of the area’s true hidden treasures—the Funk Waterfowl Production Area. Recognizing its importance as a haven for migratory birds, including the endangered whooping crane, the board envisioned transforming one of the school’s former classrooms into a dedicated gallery and exhibit space.
The Michael Forsberg Funk WPA Gallery celebrates the natural beauty, wildlife, and conservation heritage that make south-central Nebraska such a special place. Located inside the historic Funk School Community Center, the gallery takes its name partly from the nearby Waterfowl Production Area (WPA) and in celebration of renowned wildlife photographer Michael Forsberg, who headlined Crepes & Cranes in 2025.
